Romanian Institute of Science and Technology (RIST)

The Romanian Institute of Science and Technology (RIST) is a non-governmental, not-for-profit, independent research institute. RIST has been founded in 2009 as an alternative to public research institutions, for the purpose of providing a better work environment for scientists in Romania.

RIST currently performs research on machine learning, neuroscience, and dynamical systems. While previously our research has mostly focused on neuroscience, the institute currently undergoes a significant growth in machine learning, with the two groups in Deep Computational Intelligence and Machine Learning and Optimization being expected to reach 20 people by the end of 2017, supported by about 4 million euros from EU funds.

RIST also organizes the Transylvanian Experimental Neuroscience Summer School and runs the Research for Industry technology transfer platform.

RIST (Institutul Român de Ştiinţă şi Tehnologie) is a foundation registered in the National Register of Associations and Foundations under no. 3103/B/2009 and has the fiscal code 25616490.
