University for Strasbourg Institute of Advanced Study (USIAS)

The University of Strasbourg Institute for Advanced Study (USIAS) aims to support innovative, original research, and to enable reflection and synthesis at the highest level.

The Institute consists of 10 permanent USIAS Chairs who constitute the governing board of the institute, and of up to 20 USIAS Fellows per year from different countries, who are selected to work on inspired research projects via an annual call for proposals. USIAS covers all scientific fields and offers a highly multi-disciplinary environment conducive to new insights and ideas.     

USIAS is a flagship project of the Excellence Initiative (IdEx) of the University of Strasbourg, and is part of the national strategy for Investments in the Future (Investissement d'avenir) of France.
