Konosuke Matsushita Memorial Foundation

The two major objectives of The Konosuke Matsushita Memorial Foundation are to contribute to the society by promoting international understanding and to realize the society where mankind respect and harmonize with nature under the concept --- coexistence of Nature and Mankind.

In line with this goal, the foundation provides funds to research activities in the areas of humanities and social sciences which pertain to above mentioned two objectives.

To achieve these goals, the foundation will provide funds for the following activities:

  • International studies and cooperative activities related to society, culture, education, natural conservation and the economy as well as projects aimed at promoting mutual understanding and improvement of relations between Japan and other countries.
  • Programs designed to promote mutual international understanding and to develop personnel capable of promoting international understanding.
  • Awarding achievements that contribute to "Coexistence of Nature and Mankind," as well as related investigations and research.
  • Educational and public relations activities for all of the above activities.
  • Other projects considered necessary for achieving the goals of the foundation.

The above activities will be conducted in both Japan and overseas.

Konosuke Matsushita (松下 幸之助 Matsushita Kōnosuke?, 27 November 1894 – 27 April 1989) was a Japanese industrialist who founded Panasonic, the largest Japanese consumer electronics company. For many Japanese, he is known as "the god of management".
