Cambridge Centre for Research in the Arts, Social Sciences and Humanities (CRASSH)

Logo

Founded in 2001 and now in its second decade, CRASSH was conceived as a way to create interdisciplinary dialogue across Cambridge University’s many faculties and departments in the arts, social sciences and humanities. Now indispensible to the research environment, it serves at once as a centripetal hub, drawing together different disciplinary perspectives, and as a centrifugal force for disseminating new ideas and supporting emerging disciplines.

CRASSH’s mission is to stimulate interdisciplinary research, promote disciplinary innovation, establish new networks of interest, and to engage new publics in humanities research as well as influencing public policy. Its programmes include Visiting Fellowships, Early Career Fellowships for Cambridge academics, Mellon-funded post-doctoral fellowships and a variety of interdisciplinary graduate and faculty groups, alongside an interdisciplinary conference programme.
