HKU Post-doctoral Fellow in Climate Change, Sustainability, and Environment
We are currently seeking a Post-doctoral Fellow to join our interdisciplinary team, focusing on climate change, sustainability, and environmental issues. We welcome applications from candidates with expertise in various disciplines related to these areas. We are particularly interested in candidates who possess but not limited to:
- Interest in global greenhouse gas accounting and carbon budget analysis
- Experience in remote sensing and satellite-based modeling of carbon and methane emissions
- Interest or experience in field or laboratory studies of methanogens and cyanobacteria culture
- A strong track record of high-quality research, as indicated by publications
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct research related to climate change, sustainability, and environmental issues
- Collaborate with a diverse team of researchers and graduate students
- Contribute to publications and presentations of research findings
- Assist in administrative, operational, and other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- A Ph.D. degree or equivalent in geography, environmental sciences, or a related discipline
- Knowledge and practical experience in remote sensing, climate change, and environmental studies
- A strong track record of high-quality research, as indicated by publications
- Good interpersonal, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- The ability to work independently and in a team
What We Offer:
The appointment will commence as soon as possible for a period of two years, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.
