Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions Call

Individual fellowships

Casa de Velázquez and the Madrid Institute for Advanced Study already welcome two Marie Skłodowska-Curie Individual Fellowships researchers, Nicolas Simon (FNRS-Université Louvain-La Neuve), since 2019 and Margarida Barroso (ISCTE-IUL), since 2020.

Within the framework of the  MSCA Individual Fellowships call for applications, Casa de Velázquez once again is willing to receive one or more experienced researchers for a year or two in the areas of Humanities or Social Sciences.
Candidates will not only have to comply with the formal requirements of the Marie Skłodowska Curie Actions, but must also align their research with Casa de Velázquez’s scientific policy, focused on the Iberian Peninsula, Maghreb and Latin America (for the colonial and contemporary periods). For more information, please visit our website.

Projects must therefore fall into the research specialities of Casa de Velázquez’s potential supervisors:

- Archaeology (Protohistory, Ancient world)
- History (Protohistory, Ancient world, Medieval, Modern & Contemporary periods)
- History of American colonial worlds
- Art history (Modern and Contemporary times)
- History of present time

As this is an international mobility grant and taking into account the requirements of the MSCA programme, preference will be given to researchers from outside French or Spanish research centres.

Selected applicants can also benefit from the scientific environment of the Madrid Institute for Advanced Study and of its wide international cooperation network (NetIAS, UBIAS, etc.); as well as collaborate with its fellows as associated researcher. For more information on the MIAS: www.madrid-ias.eu

To apply, candidates must submit a scientific pre-proposal that will be subject to an internal evaluation by 15 June 2020 (16h, Madrid time)

This scientific pre-proposal consists in:
- A presentation of the scientific project (up to 5 pages or approx. 3000 words, in French, English or Spanish)
- An up-to-date CV (up to 5 pages in French, English or Spanish)

Both documents must be sent in a single e-mail to the following address: ehehi@casadevelazquez.org

From June 2020, the selected projects will benefit from the scientific and technical support of the Platform for the setting-up of European Projects of Casa de Velázquez and the Madrid Institute for Advanced Study.
