Postdoctoral Fellow in Chinese Studies at the University of Alberta

The China Institute at the University of Alberta is seeking a postdoctoral fellow in Chinese studies for the 2016-2017 academic year. Scholars conducting research in China-related humanities and social sciences who have received their doctorate in the last four years or expect to receive their doctorate degree before August 31, 2016 are invited to apply.

The fellowship comes with a salary of CAD $46,000, health benefits, office space in the China Institute, and a $3,000 research stipend. The postdoctoral fellow will be encouraged to conduct research in her/his area of specialty but is expected to remain in residence during the appointment period, to organize and participate in academic activities at the University of Alberta, and to give at least one public research talk.

The successful candidate will be notified by July 8, with the fellowship to commence ideally in early September 2016. The term of appointment will be up to twelve months, with the possibility of extension. Shorter terms may also be considered.
