Postdoctoral Fellowships Bibliotheca Hertziana – Max Planck Institute for Art History in Rome– Department Weddigen

The Bibliotheca Hertziana – Max Planck Institute for Art History in Rome is offering Predoctoral and Postdoctoral Fellowships for the academic year 2024/25 with the department of Prof. Dr. Tristan Weddigen. Under the general theme of Art of the Modern Age in a Global Context, the department welcomes projects in — but not limited to — one of its core research areas in any period: Rome Contemporary, Materiality and Mediality, Italy in a Global Context, Transnational History of Art History, and Digital Visual Studies. The department’s website provides further information on these research areas. Candidates should be at an early stage in their career and should propose a funding period of three to twelve months. Successful candidates will be part of a group of junior scholars related to one of the five topics and invited to actively participate in the department’s activities.
