Rethink.CEE Fellowship

Central and Eastern Europe faces a troubling mix of domestic and international challenges. Populists, kleptocrats, autocrats, and dictators have long undermined democratic institutions, civil society, and free media throughout the region. Economic stability, social cohesion, and resilience are deeply challenged by the aftermath of recent crises, the demands of digitalization and a green transition, and the changing role of the region in international supply chains.

Helton Fellowship Program

Established in 2004, the Arthur C. Helton Fellowship Program recognizes the legacy of Arthur Helton, a prominent human rights advocate and ASIL member. Helton died in the August 19, 2003 bombing of the UN mission in Baghdad.

Applications are now open. Incomplete applications and those received after January 12, 2024, will not be reviewed under any circumstances. Awards will be announced in February 2024.

Applicants must submit completed applications to fellowship@asil.org.
