Rice Architecture in Houston, TX invites applications and nominations for two Wortham Fellow positions. The Wortham Fellowship was established twenty-three years ago to give promising and outstanding candidates the opportunity to teach and conduct research. This two-year teaching fellowship is specifically targeted at individuals who have completed their graduate degrees and are beginning or advancing a career of practice and teaching. The School is particularly interested in highly motivated candidates with a clearly defined design/research agenda. With a teaching load of three courses per year, Fellows are able to hone their teaching skills and develop their individual lines of research in the context of the school’s small, tightly knit academic community.

Candidates should hold, at a minimum, a Master of Architecture degree or its equivalent. Degree requirements must be fulfilled by July 1 of the year employment commences. Applications should include a letter of interest, curriculum vitae, proposed research agenda, samples of course syllabi, professional, scholarly, or creative work—link or upload (9MB max upload)—and contact information for three references. Shortlisted candidates may be asked to submit a full portfolio at a later date.

The deadline for applications is January 4, 2021.
